River Rafting at Manas
Service Description
The Manas River does not wait for anyone — and that is exactly the point. The Manas River originates in the Royal Manas National Park in Bhutan and descends through one of the most pristine forested corridors in South Asia before entering the plains of Assam. Rafting it is unlike anything else this region offers: the water is fast and clear, the banks are dense with wildlife, and the only sounds are the river and the forest. This is not a theme-park rafting experience. It is a river expedition through a live national park. As you navigate the rapids and drifts, you move through rhino and elephant habitat. Kingfishers and storks work the riverbanks alongside you. If you are quiet and a little lucky, something larger may appear at the treeline. The experience: Guided white-water rafting on the Manas River, beginner to intermediate rapids depending on season Expert local guides who know the river's character in every season Wildlife sightings from the water — rhino, elephant, deer, and extraordinary birdlife Safety equipment and full briefing provided Combined safari and rafting packages available Best season: October through March, when water levels are ideal and wildlife is most active along the riverbanks. Group size: Up to 6 persons per raft. Pricing: Contact us for current rates. Pricing varies by group size and package combination. Travella Promise: The river is real, the guide knows it, and nothing about this day is scripted.
